It is an unusual surname and while looking for my wife's relations in Ballycanew cemetery we saw a few headstones with Tackaberry on them would they be related to you ?

Hi,
I have just registered, and would like to know if anyone has any information about my gg grandfather Edward Tackaberry's family he was born about 1798 in Kilmuckridge Co. Wexford. He joined the 73rd of foot in Gorey 1822. I would like to more about his military career and who his parents were if possible also when he died.

just seen your reply to my Tackaberry query It's ages since Ihave been on Roots site. Martha and her husband William Ashfield were my Ggrandparents. My Granfather was thier son Henry Robert. Do you know anything about thier first child William Edward born in Ireland when they were waiting passage to South Africa. Apparently he joined the 73rd too. On the 1861 census he is in barracks in Chatham ,but I can find no further record of him. Do you know anything about Edward Tackaberrys parents, or what happened to his wife Mary. Aftwer his discharge from the 73rd I can find no futher trace of him.
