Looks like he married Jemima ROFE at Saint Clements, Hastings on 7 Jan 1864 (IGI) Mar qtr 1864, Hastings 2b 23 (FreeBMD).

Getting his marriage cert should name his father.

ref the Curious Fox link ....

Spencer Soan possibly married Jane French 1823 in St Clements, Hastings. He died March 1870. His son, Spencer Henry Soan m. Sarah Collings 19 March 1853 at St Mary in the Castle, Hastings. Spencer Henry died Feb 1874. His son , Harry Soan, b Nov 1867 was my great grandfather. Seeking more information on the Soans of Hastings.

dont look like the family being sought.

The family referenced are transcribed as Loan in 1841 .....

The Daniel Montgomery Soane was the son of William Duke SOANE and Louisa Dorothy DANIELS. Can't see them in 1841 but in 1851 he was in All Saints Hastings with his parents and brother Alfred. All three males were painters and glaziers - HO107/1635/195/14
