It is the 1901 census on Ancestry

There is a Charles Rogers in the naval records, born Battersea, but birth year is 1884, you might like to take a look at the documents online, you can also download them.

Maybe he put his age up a little to join up

If the Charles Rogers born 23 Oct 1884 Battersea in the Naval Records is yours then these two births would be a better fit than the one you gave in 1886.

Charles Rogers Dec 1884 Wandsworth Vol 1d  p 643 (more likely this one)
Charles William Rogers Dec 1884 Wandsworth Vol 1d p 593

And yes, that is the right page you have found but you would only want to buy the image if you were sure it is the right Charles Rogers. I think Arthur Henry is also there born 1897, is that right?

It would be a good idea to wait for the marriage certificate to see what clues are on it as with a name like Charles Rogers it would be easy to follow the wrong family.

dear cazay

marriage certificate shows parents of charles rogers as alfred edward rogers occupation carman, mother clara ALSFORD.

charles was 39 in 1936, his wife was 19.

on bdm death 1970 entry showed father as alfred and mother as sarah.

would this information be enough to find this family. as far as i know they were in the battersea/wandsworth area.

thanks once again
