Hi ANB14

Nice to hear from you and welcome to the site, saw your e-mail your Charles born 1891 was my Great grandfathers cousin, (Thomas Fradley) Thomas's father was Benjamin Fradley born 1861.
Hope you liked Rode Heath or Odd Rode which ever you want to go with, Did you find Clarkes Row where Charles lived? it's hard to find because it's not named.
Anyway Kind Regards
Janet

Hi Golfer53

On Ancestry I've found the marriage of Eunice, but she is recorded as Eunice HAMPSON marrying Joseph Henry COLE on the 27 December 1874 at West Bromwich.  Her father is Richard HAMPSON and Joseph's father is Benjamin COLE.

Regards, Jackie.

Mavis,

The only thing I can think is that as Eunice's surname is shown on the GRO as HAMPSON, could it be that a mistake was made on the marriage certificate.  I have a couple of certificates with name mistakes, although all other information was correct.  Good luck with solving this one.

Jackie

Hi, everyone out there with connections to the FRADLEY family.  My husband and I started to research his family tree in September 2009, and up to now have been progressing slowly.

His Grandfather, who he never met, was Charles Fradley, born in Odd Rode in 1891, to John Fradley & Eliza Jane Fradley (formerly Harrison), who married in 1880.

We discovered Roots Chat quite by accident on Sunday, after we got back from our first ever visit to Odd Rode.

We have a Birth Certificate for a John Fradley, born in 1859, to Benjamin Fradley & Ann Fradley (formerly Stanworth), and also some info from the Census in 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 & 1901.  As there seem to be so many Benjamin's & John's, we have been unsure if we are following this info correctly.

We are both really excited by the Posts we have been reading from the following people:

KERRY 1212, ANN COOPER, JANET SMITH, TONY1439, LINDARHEAD,VALIGENE

We have never seen photos of my husband's grandparents, let alone anyone who came before that.

I hope that, with your help, we will be able to find out a lot more.

Thanks, a lot.

I have many relatives in my tree who worked on the canals.

On my fathers paternal side, Jesse Moore worked out of Coventry in 1901 and Spon Lane in 1911.

His son James T Moore also worked out of Spon Lane in 1911.  I am quite keen to learn more about him if anyone knows of him.

On my fathers maternal side, Ethel Wood worked for Barlow Boats in Tamworth.

Keen to get in touch with anyone who has links to my relatives.

Hi, Kerry

Thanks for replying to our first post.

We have looked at your website. It's great!

Your info seems to confirm what we have so far. I have been looking at replies 152,153, 154 & 157.  I need to write some of the info down, so that i can see it all at once.

We are trying to collect photos of people, gravestones, canals, and places where they used to live.  We are only looking at the one surname so far. :)

Found the 2 roads where Charles & his wife were living on the day they got married. It is next to Ellesmere Port Boat Museum. We are going to look round the museum asap.

Thanks Bev
