Thanks for your help. Unfortunately we have the cert for Margaret P Bennett - Basford 1919 and the middle name is incorrect! so it isn't her.

If so what was her surname at death???

Her death reg -depending when it was -could give her exact d.o.b.

Peggy died in 1973 and her married name was Kelly. We know her date of birth but we don't know who her mother was. On some of her documents when she was a child her surname is stated as Westray on others it is Bennett. We cannot find an entry in the registers for her birth to find who her mother was. Any help would be much appreciated.

Bit of a long shot but could Peggy have been born in Scotland?  GRO only has English and Welsh births.

I asked when her deathreg was  to find birth, as you had put she was born "about" 1921, so I thought you weren't sure.

Now I see her d.o.b. (on death reg) is given as 26 Feb 1921.

As Nanny jan said, she could have been born in Scotland-or ireland.

is there a fathers name on marriage cert??

Thanks for your help. Yes on her first marriage cert the father's name is 'William Bennett - deceased' and on her second marriage cert there is 'William Westray'..
