address help

Hi,
   I have just found a address for one of my dads cousins,the family were from the midlands,and did not realise he had a cousin in the area as i knew nothing of the family,so hopeing if i put name and address something will come to light,he was born in early 1900,s. but address given by another cousin i believe would be from 50,s 60,s era .
would appreciate any help.

Not sure what you are asking really, but I have just found your address on Google Maps and on Google Earth. Harwell is actually in Didcot . The first part of the post code is OX11.

Downs close is off Reading Road (A417) in Harwell.

Also have just entered "Brethick", Downs Close, Harwell " in to Google Earth and see that there is still a house of that name. Looks quite a large one!

 I dont know for sure but apparently he was a captain in the army and had returned sometime from Africa,you see my dad was 60 when I  born,so out of my time,cousins all in early 1900,s but would love to know more about him,traced his brother to America and found his son a top child psychatrist out there but he did not want contact.

There again, "The Atomic" (as it was always called locally) is nearer to Chilton than to Harwell village itself, which I agree is certainly not in Didcot!
