Llanrwst area includes Llangerniew.


1881 census has the possibility:

Robert Pritchard  14 Farm Servant (Indoor)  (b Llangerniw, Denbigh, Wales)

with David Jones, farmer, at Pentrefelin, Dwygyfylchi, Caernarvon.

The Census for 1871 in Cernarvonshire shows your Robert to be the son of a Henry and Hannah Pritchard.I'm having great difficulty finding a possible Marriage for Henry and Hannah.

3 of Henry and Hannahs children are buried at Llangernyw (Margaret, William and Thomas). They lived at Ty Mawr.

1891 living at 42 High St, Dwygyfylchi:

Robert Pritchard (born 1868 Llangernyw), his wife Margaret Elizabeth, his brother [in law?] Richard Sloane and some boarders. His occupation is a stone breaker?

Robert Prichard married Maggie Sloane in the Conway registration district in 1890

Thank you for that, I shall request his Birth Certificate.
His father, Henry might have died in the Sept Qtr. 1889 Conwy 11b. 296.
Henry [Farm Labourer] is deceased when Robert married Margaret Elizabeth SLOANE 14 June 1890. Her father is John SLOANE [stone mason deceased]. Robert's brother Elias was his witness. Robert's residence is Pentre Felin, Dwygyfylchi and Margaret is at Penmaenan, Dwygyfylchi, and that ties in nicely with his cencus record of 1881.
I could not find Margaret Elizabeth Sloane or any of her family on any other cencus returns, except for 1891 When she is married and her brother Richard is living with her at 42 High st.

You have hepled to confirm Roberts parents, thank you. I would love to know when Henry and Hannah got married and her maiden name, thanks again for trying.

Can you tell me please their address in 1871, I believe that it might be Bryn Madog or Mynydd Main? The children are : Thomas [19]

It's a little strange how William is listed before Thomas even though he died later...

This web site never ceases to amaze me! Thank you for your help.
As you can see by my other replies, I managed to get Roberts marriage certificate. It states that Henry is now deseased, but what happened to Henry and the rest of his family after Robert went to live at Pentre Felin by 1881. It was very sad to find out that three of his children had died and are buried in Llangernyw, do you know the church where they are please, I should like to visit the grave.
I'm also trying to find the location of the farms that Henry worked on.
Here is the final resting place of Robert and Hannah Elizabeth, along with some of thier children.
