Hah!!!  Got her!!   :)

Here is a transcription of an article that ran in the 17 March 1952 Newport Daily News (Rhode Island) newspaper on page two.

MRS. CHARLES W. STEWART, DOCTOR'S WIDOW DIES

Mrs. Gertrude Eugenie Pennington Stewart, wife of the late Dr. Charles W. Stewart of 2 Kay Street died early this morning in a Middletown nursing home after a long illness.

She was born in Milner, N.D., a daughter of the late John and Margaret Pennington.  She was a graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and a member of the Nurses Alumnae Association.  During WW 1 she was active in Red Cross work in this community.

Her only survivor is a nephew, John Dana Tasker, assistant managing editor of Time magazine.

EXCELLENT WORK, JEAN !!    :D  ;D  ;D

By chance, I found a 1998 obit for a Charles A Stewart Jr. b. 1931 (a doctor) who could maybe be the son of the Gertrude who dies in Boothbay Harbor , Maine.    I won't clutter up here if of no further interest.   But if you see any connection and want the info, let me know and I will post.

 :o :)

Excellent work! I am thrilled to pieces. THANK YOU! so much Jean and Shelly for the help.

Re: Chs Stewart Jr - don't think this would have been Gertrude & Charles' son as they never had any children. Charles was previously married and his first wife died - maybe their son?
