Vicki,
you posted asking for information on Roland on 27 Sept 2007 and I replied giving some information on his time in England- but you never responded

Yesterday you had 2 more replies on this topic

I wondered if you had noticed the replies -as a year later you are still finding Roland elusive - or is it just his life in NZ you are finding difficult to trace now ?

This is a link to your old post

Hi EVERYONE
When I logged on and saw all the replies I was gobsmacked! I have my own business so I try to fit F/tree in :) I will endevour to respond.
Suzard firstly, I apologise for not replying, that was rude & will teach me trying to research to many branches at once. Your info was perfect, I was smiling for days, my mother & her brother were also very happy. .
I am stuck in Scotland (Macdonald) & NZ for both of them but will plough through other links.

Christine do not know place..assumed..., my gr mother b. cert. states p.o.b.  Dunedin NZ. I will do the Intention to Marry to look up suggestion. Thankyou for the links will follow each one of them. It is looking like the Williamina on the Paria was another Williamina however. I do have the 2 variations of spelling for Rowland. & have substantiated his b. 1854 Stourbridge, Shropshire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Worcestershire. Thanks for the Cartvale info. & yes you are right about Ronald/ Roland mistakes.

Althea, thankyou for your info Roland was indeed a miner but the willamina you have may not be the one, thay migrated to Australia 1886/1887.

Lu did use the site "yesteryears" & got info off the debtors list, at the time I did not understand what this list was all about. I am ruling out the vessel Paria its looking like Williamina was still in Scotland in 1871. You have also given me another reason as she was only a child!

thankyou everyone,  have a lot to work to digest
cheers from oz, Vic
