St Peter Carmarthen - John Trewartha 1816
« on: Sunday 14 September 08 20:50 BST (UK) »
Please can some kind person look up a baptism for St Peter. I am looking for John Trewartha born about 1816.

In the 1851 and 1861 records he appears to have been born in St Peter Carmarthenshire and Carmarthen Cilowen. Perhaps someone could double check my eye sight for the Cilowen bit in 1861 - Class: RG9; Piece: 4085; Folio: 66; Page: 19, 25 Henry Street Neath.

He dies in 1867 so there's no later censuses to verify against.

There's a bit of confusion on this as he may also have been born in Gwennap Cornwall. The family certainly comes from there, his wife came from there, but the census entries definitely say Carmarthen(shire).

Many thanks
Tracy

Further confusion - there were two John Trewartha's born about the right time who are both listed in 1851 married to a Martha, my John in Wales and one living in Gwennap.

I know that mistakes are made but given that two census returns have my John being born in Carmarthen I think that I have to exhaust that route first.
Cheers
