Doh - I saw that one last night/early hours but thought  'no it can't be'

Thinking about it, as they moved around so much, the poor laddie probably wouldn't have known where he was born but might have heard the stories of America 

it's certainly worth following up

1891 census for Killin shows Albert was a general labourer, aged 48 and from Ohio, America. His wife is Nelly, aged 44 and a seamstress from Northampton. Maybe this is where he went to?

In 1901 Albert is living at 328 High St, Dalbeattie. Aged 48 (again) he is a granite labourer from America. There is a 2 letter abbreviation after America that i can't quite make out... B.S...B.A... ?? His wife is named as ELIZA this time and she is 46 this time and from England.

Is this worth checking out further?

well albert brown grandparents where all born in slacks grove monaghan ireland and all there kids as well. and i have got his grandfather died in guernsey ohio abt 1823. so alberts father joseph brown born 1821 got married in girvan scotland and  joseph brother andrew born 08/03/1805 got married in ireland 1839. and joseph other brother james born 1812 got married in ireland 1849 or scotland.but joseph sister  isabella born 15/03/1790 got married 26/07/1815 guernsey ohio. so i dont know if all the family went to guernsey ohio then some came back to ireland and scotland and some stayed in the usa as i have still got family to this day in usa coming from isabella
and i have been told that i still have rellies in ireland but he has not got a computer and the chap that told me this has not got back to me yet
