GovtRegistry.com
Instantly Search 100's of Millions of Records. Is it as good as it sounds?

Hi, recently posted about obtaining Asylum Records.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,324176.0.html

Had no luck with my search, all records destroyed,  Soooo, I heard on the grape vine that my relative may have been committed due to an embarrassing indiscretion with a shotgun  :o (Please don't hold it against me ;D I am a fairly normal person honestly!)

So I was thinking he was probably arrested.... & perhaps somewhere some records still exist.

I have done a basic search on GovtRegistry.com & it says it has some arrest info on someone with the same name as my relative.

Seems a bit easy.

Anyone had any success with govtregistry? Is it worth the money.

Thanks Nic

I don't like the look of it.
I just tried a search for the first thing that came into my head - elphinstone MacZybloski and it tells me it found a match!

I think the chance of your "match" being your person are very slim.

Hey...I happen to think that this is a very cool site. They have records for Eliphalet McThing, Bognor Q. Variableness, Lex Luthor, Mister Mxyzptlk and of course, Kal El. Really, what other site can do that for you?

Cheers,

On a slightly more serious note.
One thing that did make me wary, before trying the silly names, was the fact that it insists on an American State being input, regardless of chosen country.

I've been searching the net and found nothing good about the site - similar comments to ours on Rootsweb.

I also found this http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/360/RipOff0360214.htm

Seems to be one to avoid unless someone on RC can tell us otherwise.

Unless you select "Nationwide", then it doesn't require a state.

Who knows what nation they're searching, though...it could be some place we've been to on the one-liner.. ;D
