Also walker is not connected to the wallser family. The records all state wallser, not walker :)

Morning Phil  :)

What was the trail which led you back to this Thomas and Isabella?

Are they entered as Wallser in later censuses?

Where do travellers come into it - this particular Thomas was a shoemaker   ???

Jennifer
Our wallser family are Gypsy and travelled all over Cornwall, Devon, New forest, Southampton, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Guernsey and Jersey.

Hi iris Thomas wallser and Sarah Gruby are my great great great grandparents, I'm going to make a new thread with all the info of our family, people are confusing the lines. Thomas is a name used until today for the wallser line, i have dates addresses, which will solve the mystery of where they moved to and when. They moved around a lot. Give me a couple of days to write everything out. Best wishes

Hello again Phil,

On this thread http://www.rootschat.com/links/04bi/ you say that

I searched Thomas Wallser in 1851 census and not for the first time, Wallser has been transcribed under Walker............there is a Thomas Wallser born Ticehurst living with wife Arabella........

later in the same thread you make the correction

Sorry he was born in Storrington according to the census

Clearly this is the family which Michael has found, although the wife's name is Isabella not Arabella.

What makes you say that this family's name is really Wallser when it is written as Walker in the census?

Its the wrong family, they're not listed anywhere as walker, and they were never in Northumberland :)
