Reaney Ancestors
« on: Wednesday 17 September 08 01:29 BST (UK) »
Hello

I am trying to find out the parents of James Reaney of Chancery, ballyvary, Mayo.

He married Honor Fitzstephens ( Born 1846 ) at Balla Church in 1869. Father Patt and mother Margaret.

They had one son named Patt Reaney, only child born 1871. He remained in Chancery and had 10 children.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.  I had a few units left on the following website:  www.mayoancestors.com
and had a look for James Reaney's parents. I can see a possible birth for him in 1835 - if this is correct, then the parents named are: Pat Reany & Mary Dougherty.  I can see the marriage, but do not have enough credits to view the full document.  There are various spellings: Reaney, Raney & Reany.

I hope this of some help to you.
Dee

Hi Dee

Thanks for the info, as far as I know that is a different family towards the knock area or swinford area.

Thanks for your help though
