I have recently discovered through another website?? a cousin which meant that i could trace my paternal grandfathers family back to Joseph Podesta b.1830? Genoa. 1881 living 15 Shirley Tce, Millbrook, S'ton M. Sarah?. I don't know how to find info about his parents, as 1901 says british subject i wonder if he was naturalised, how do i find this info? Help please.

Naturalisation papers are at the National Archives, Kew, London.

Search their collections with "PODESTA" from their partial online index:

Thanks for that, Icouldn't find anything on the NA site, i'll have to have a day up there. I hadn't spotted the immigration board i will have a look.
