I din't see the Angus, son of Roderick in  Lewis in 1901  but given the son named Roderick John, it looks like the one I found in Lochs rather than Barvas.

I'll do a bit more moseying around  in R & Cand Scotland generally.  :)

Ireland - I avoid .  I know very little about the records except for the problems with them  :-\

I try to keep to areas that I have either lived in or have researched because of my, OHs, family or friends' ancestors.

Donald Murray, father of Roderick and grandfather of Angus,  died in South Sawbost, Lochs on 24 Feb 1877, aged 67.

His parents are  listed as John Murray, crofter, and Ann , maiden surname MacLeod. Both deceased by 1877.

His son, Neil, was the informant

Sorry for disappearing.
Thank you so much for this Gadget.

I can't say I blame you for avoiding Irish genealogy - it's not exactly straight forward is it?
WIMBUSH - Everywhere :: MARLOW/JECOCK/JUSTICE - Northamptonshire/Warwickshire/Oxfordshire :: SCALES/BRIDGES/ENGLISH/SPINK/PETCH/GOOCH/COCKSEDGE - Suffolk :: GARRETT/GIBBS/FEARN - Warwickshire :: DEVOS - Scotland (Aberdeen)/France(Dunkerque) :: MURRAY - Ireland(Down)/Scotland(Lochs) :: TIGHE/TREACY - Cork

Stanley Charles SCALES b.1899 - Where are you?    ***

You should be able to get back on the other lines that I've mentioned on either the IGI or the Scotlands People website, which I'm sure you know of already  :)

Have a good day when 'the event' takes place in November  :D
