Having trouble locating a Swinton in Fife  :(  (JUst seen the Swintonbeath, Monica)

Anyway, I put in a global search for baptisms for an Al*n with father Andrew, 1794-1801 in Fife and came up with 8 instances -

4 in Scoonie to Andrew and an Ann(e) Goodwillie/y
4 in Largo to an Andrew and Ann Milla/er

Interestingly, on the IGI,  the Largo couple, Andrew Allan and Ann Mille/ar,  had a Janet bpt in 1806 and a William in 1794.

I did post that earlier Gadget...The thing that worried me about the entry for the Janet Allan (parents Andrew and Ann Millar) is that it shows birth as 1806 and Janet Allan Torbit shows an earlier birth year of c. 1800.

Can't find anything more though  ???

I didn't seen the bottom bit of the posting - just saw the death record at the end ???

I don't think it's the Ann Goodwillie either,  though - do you know which parish Swintonbeath is in?

Not an Al*n bpt in sight in Beath for the time period we're interested in  :(

Think it's another of those lack of/missing, etc. records problems

Gadget and Monica,
I cant believe the amount of info you were able to dig up.....
Some bits are confusing and I'll need to verify as suggested (I made that mistake before).
I think that the Swintonbeath lead is great.  The Baxter link is a new one but looking at it, I think that its' possible Robert might have married more than once.

Thank you both for all your info.

If you come across any more info I'd be even more greatful.
