1918 - 1952 The Irish Sailors' and Soldiers' Land Trust
« on: Thursday 18 September 08 17:10 BST (UK) »
The Irish Sailors' and Soldiers' Land Trust was set up to provide cottages in Ireland for ex-servicemen (including airmen) after the First World War. There were more than 4,000 cottages provided. The rent strikes in the Republic meant that no further cottages were built in that area after 1932, but cottages continued to be built by the Trust in Northern Ireland until 1952.
