Mom's Kindergarten photo colour please & question
« on: Friday 19 September 08 23:08 BST (UK) »
This is a rather strange question but I have a lovely photo of my mother and her Kindergarten class which I would like to have colored.  However, I am hestitant to post it because it was taken 1935 in Germany and there is a small picture of a certain German dictator in the background (which I first noticed in the scan) .  Am I allowed to post such a photo or should I edit it first (remove that part)?  I would like to keep it as the original but I don't want anyone offended.

Please let me know what I should do and then I'll add the picture as requested.

Thanks,
Karen

PS.  I've decided to remove the certain person's picture and will post it below.  I'd love some colour!  The photo on the left back wall is Kaiser Wilhelm and my Mom is the middle child in the back row with the bangs and white collar.  She has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Hi Karen  :)
I don't think it would have been a problem to post the photo with the possibly-offending picture still in the background - it's all part of history after all  :-\ - but it's important to be sensitive about such issues as they are still within living memory of so many people...
I think the photo looks lovely as you have posted it now (cropped) as long as you are happy to have it like that.
Thanks for being so thoughtful and asking about it  :D

Cheers
