Earlier census records for Rebecca Bennion, with father Samuel in Saltney/Bretton area - show that Samuel was born in Gresford, Denbighshire, and his wife Esther was born in Hawarden (Pentrobin) Flintshire.

1861 - Samuel Bennion

1861 - Esther Bennion
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M7LN-J8C

Children from the 1861 census - all born Saltney
George - 18
John - 14
Rebecca - 12
Thomas - 9

RG 9/2634 pg 52

1851 census... Samuel is 44, born Denbighshire.  Esther is 39, born Hawarden, Flintshire

Here is Esther
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGBP-7N2

Children
Ellen - 19
Mary - 10
George 8
John 5
Rebecca 3
Ann 2 months

HO 107/2, page 39

I think this is Samuel in 1841
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M77R-X7J

Family is in Bretton.  Wife is Esther

Children are
Ellen - 8
Eliza - 4
Hannah - 2
Mary - 1 month

HO 107/1409/3

So, if you want to go back further, you can look for a marriage of Samuel Bennion and Esther around 1828-1832 or so.

This is Rebecca Bennion's baptism record.  It is mistranscribed as Benman...

Have looked at the image and I think it is your Rebecca.  Parents are Samuel Bennion and Esther Piercy of Bretton.

Census records show Benjamin Connah from 1871-1911 in Bretton.  He is with Rebecca until 1891, then he is a widower living with daughter Hannah in 1901.  So Rebecca died between 1891 and 1901

Free BMD has a death that looks right... Jun Q of 1898
CONNAH  Rebecca  49    CHester   8a 263

Benjamin died after 1911.  This could be him (though Benjamin Connah is a fairly common name in the area.).

Sept Q of 1913
CONNAH  Benjamin     64     Hawarden     11b 273

Benjamin Connah, born about 1850 father Joseph... in the Saltney area.

This is likely him - born 1848 and baptized 1849
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KC5T-ZYD

Father is Joseph Connah and mother is Hannah Griffiths - Bretton.

I wonder if this could be the marriage of Benjamin's parents... Joseph Connah and Hannah Griffiths.  Dec 28, 1846 at St. Mary's Broughton.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KC5T-86C

Both Joseph and Hannah are 24.  Joseph's father is Benjamin Connah and Hannah's father is William Griffiths.

Looking for Joseph and Hannah Connah with son Benjamin (b 1848) in 1851, but not finding them... drat.

See a Joseph and Hannah of the right age in 1861 in Bretton, several kids (Elizabeth 10, Joseph 8, William 6, Ann 3 and Thomas 1), but Benjamin not with them.  So can't be certain that it is the right family.

I still haven't found a tie in to my family tree ... my Benjamin Connahs were born in the 1700s.  I have lots of Piercys and Bennions, but none that seem to match with Rebecca either.

I believe this is my family too.  my grandmother was Ett, (Esther), she married Lawrence Ewart Brown circa 1925. I have photos of John Chilton and his father and mother.  Reach out to me Paul if I can help I will.
