COMPLETED - Evening Chronicle lookup - NEWTON
« on: Tuesday 23 September 08 10:09 BST (UK) »
Hi,
This is my first posting to this message board and I wonder if anyone would be prepared to look up some death notices in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle?
The ones I am particularly interested in are -

Lancelot NEWTON, 11 June 1895, Newcastle
Lancelot NEWTON, 29 Aug 1901, 3 months, Byker
George Shepherd NEWTON, 20 Feb 1905, 26, S. Byker

I believe the first one to be my gg grandfather, the third his son and the second a possible grandchild.

I have had many difficulties tracing the deaths of my Newcastle & Northumberland ancestors particularly as the surnames are so common in the area! - NEWTON, SCOTT, DAWSON, REED, HALL, SIMM.
I have already wasted money on death certificates which proved wrong and then I found the Genuki site with the Evening Chronicle Death notices. I would be delighted if anyone could take the time to look up even one of these folk to help me know if I am on the right track.

Thanks in anticipation,
Kevin Scott

Grant,

Thank you so much for these. All three are exactly the people I thought and hoped they would be. Plus extra information about family etc. Wonderful!

Much appreciated,
Kevin
