Yes, Patricia's registration also give mother's maiden name as Woolley

Dec 1919, Nottingham 7b/675
Patricia J Gough

Have you any idea when the others were born - it might help in narrowing down a marriage date, though I have to say that my 2 x great grandparents didn't marry until after they had five children. That marriage took some finding!

Here's Kenneth and there's a surprise in where he was born:

June 1915, Conway 11b/979
Kenneth A Gough
Mother's maiden name - Woolley

Now then.. What were they doing in North Wales in 1915? Mystery or do you know the answer to this?

My gt gt's married in 1914,some 21 years after the first of their 10 children were born.
They got plenty of bridesmaids, pageboys and ushers though  ;)

I cried when I finally found them  ::)

And of course some didn't marry around that time.
Especially if first hubby had gone off to war and not returned.

If Miss Wooley married someone else before Harry Gough, then the marriage will be hard to find - as she wont be Wooley!

(there is a marriage for an Ada Margaret E Wooley in Strand in 1906)

Getting a cert for a child might help here. (E.g it might say MArgaret Gough, prev Bloggs, nee Wooley. Or it might just say Miss Margaret Wooley for the mother - in which case nasty little aunt might have been right.)

you people are amazing...thanks so much!
Kenneth's birth is indeed a mystery.  They story goes that Margaret E went awayto have Kenneth and didn't come back to Nottingham with him and his grandfather Bertram Flude Owen went to get him and brought him up in his house.  This is what started all this investigation and it gets more complicated!!!lol  But it's FUN!

Indeed it is fun!

I'm just pondering on how little Kenneth had a grandfather with surname Owen - thought they would be Gough and Wooley

how do a couple age 28 and 24 have a 14 yr old dtr?
