I'm trying to find parents of Cyril Claud Taylor b. 1924 Greenwich
mother's maiden name is Burrell.

Well, you won't know for sure without getting his birth certificate - but FreeBMD at www.freebmd.org.uk shows a string of Taylor/Burrell birth registrations in Greenwich between Dec 1913 and Jun 1929 (including that of Cyril) so this marriage looks like a likely candidate for the parents:

Many thanks Anna I had come across this before but going further back I couldn't find a match for Charlotte's parents.
I think they were Mary Ann Stearn b. c1872 and Richard Burrell b. c1872 who were married in 1895 which would rule out Charlotte who was born in 1891 So I guess I'll have stick my hands in my pocket and get some Marr. & Birth certs. but thanks again Anna

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying!

If Cyril's parents are John P Taylor and Charlotte L Burrell, the next step is to find their birth families.

The most likely birth reg for Charlotte L Burrell seems to be this one (again, as always, subject to certificates):

Charlotte Lilian Burrell
Mar 1889
Greenwich
1d 1135

The 1891 census shows a 2 yr old Charlotte Burrell b Greenwich and living in Greenwich with parents James and Charlotte: RG12/515/26/2

And so on...

What is your source for the belief as to the involvement of Richard Burrell and Mary Ann Stearn?

I have only just started on this, my wife's side of the family, and the info on Srearn etc was from a brother in law who started researching some years back but gave up quite quickly so info I had from him was very sketchy.
Someone on GenesReunited has confirmed that Stearn is not a member of my family.
So I've decided to work back again afresh and the info you gave confirms some details I already have.

now this is spooky as Cyril Taylor is my Gramps' (Leslie Taylor) brother...are you Anthony by any chance on GenesReunited as Mum has sent you a message on there! We would love to get in touch as Gramps is still going strong (at the grand old age of 88!) and would be interested to hear more! Becki
