Census request - William Taylor
« on: Sunday 28 September 08 23:45 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anyone find this man for me in 1871? Hopefully married with some children. I'm hoping he could be a brother to my 3x great-grandfather and knock down one of my brick walls! Would be nice for once.

In 1861: Rechlerich, Inveravon, Banffshire
William Taylor, m, servant, 24, ploughman, b. Inveravon

Regards
hume24 :)

Hi Carole,

Thank you for that. I think it possibly is the same man, but I will get his marriage certificate to Margaret to confirm names/dates.

Thanks again,

Just updating - I checked the marriage certificate and unfortunately no connection to my family! It looks like that brick wall will remain for a while longer. :(

Hi Monica,

You may remember my thread from before:  http://www.rootschat.com/links/04fa/ I did wonder if this William was a brother to James, simply because he was born in Inveravon around the same time as my 3x great-grandfather. Unfortunately not as he gives entirely different parents on his marriage certificate (to Margaret Shaw). :(

Not much use the 1851 for William either. He shows as a farm servant, age 15 born in Inveravon. At Black household in Delballie, Knockando, Moray.
