Hello all.

I'm trying to trace one James Roney b. c1831 Balinrobe, Ireland.

all i know is he was born in Ireland (according to English census) and I'm 1881 was in Binbrook, Lincolnshire, england. He married an Ann, of binbrook and had a daughter. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.

In the 1871 census in Binbrook  RG10 3405 52 13  there is

I can see no marriage for James and Ann in Lincolnshire other than these two on the same page but not necessarily married to each other

but that does not explain the 1871 census entry, I can find no Ann marrying a Bateman in the area.  Were they actually married??  That cert could rule it out or confirm it, the census entry could be wrong??  but that is what it says on the actual image.

There is a death in Mar Q 1890

there is also a James Rainey in 1916 aged 76, so that previous marriage is probably wrong.

The age on death certs is only as good as the person informing the registrar so it could be helpful to see who it was.
