Hi Jen,
Thank you so much again for helping me,you are just fantastic! Isaac aged 5 married my Grt Aunt Jeannie Chalmers in 1923 in Stranraer, she died in 1930 in Inverness. Isaac became a Blacksmith. I don't know what happened to him after his wife died but have always wondered. I have their marriage certificate with his parents names on and have back tracked from there, so this is wonderful! Now I know he had brothers and sisters and will now add them on my tree.
Kind Regards
Jeanne

Hello again,

There is a death registration for Isaac Bateman, aged 79, in 1971, Airdrie, Lanarkshire
GROS data/651/00/ 0114

This is the right age for yours. Unfortunately such recent death registrations are not available to view online but you could send for it. If you give his parents' names as a reference check, it will ensure that if it is not him, you won't have to spend the money.

Cheers, Jen
