Cap Badges..
« on: Wednesday 01 October 08 11:03 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have a question for you clever people  :D

Is it possible to have served in two different regiments??  I have two photographs of two men, which I am hoping to be the same man  8) but they have different cap badges  ???

I am at work at the moment, so I am unable to post the photo's that I have, it's just puzzling me and I know nothing about the armed forces at all.  Many thanks for reading

Hi Jane
Perfectly possible to have served with two different Regiments...Especially in the Great War.
If it was Great War if you post his name we can check the online medal rolls out and then compare cap badge to medal card to see if the link fits.

Hi Ady

The surname is Bollands, one of the photographs is of a William Bollands, 6th? regiment, Leicestershire,  I am clutching at straws, as my late great aunt had the second photograph in her possessions, unfortunately there is not a name or any clue to who this man is, but they do look similar, or maybe I want them to  ::)

Photographs to be added as soon as I can, mind you I only have scans, as my father's cousin has the original

The 2nd Picture is definitely the Leicestershire Regiment - the animal on the badge is a Tiger.
