some Derbyshire strays from 1891 Census
« on: Sunday 30 January 05 22:39 GMT (UK) »
I found these Derbyshire folk on the 1891 census - all had strayed 'over the border' into Staffs.
If they belong to anyone I'll be happy to supply full details of household etc...

I am looking for Frederick Forth as he is my great grandfather.
He was a policeman so may be stationed in this district

Hi Roderick

The only Forth I have is John Frayling aged 17, a boarder at Denstone College who gives his birthplace as Melbourne, Derbyshire.
Have just looked for him in the 1881 Census and he appears in Long Eaton with his father Thomas P Forth, 57, Curate of Long Eaton, mother Eileen J Forth and brother Thomas F Forth aged 14.

There is one in 1891, aged 34, police constable, born Hilborough, Norfolk. Living West Ham with his wife Mary, and sons Frederick G?, Wm H, and Horace A, aged 4, 2 and 1.
Is that him? If not, it would be best to post in the approprate place and give the information that you have so far  :)

Gday Gardener
That is him, where did you find that ,I can look on all the free sites but dont have access to most pay sites .
I am the grandson of Horace
What I am trying to find is Frederick's father George's parents who they were and where did they come from.
My copy of the family tree only goes back to 1849/50 when George was a baker in Hilborough Norfolk
sorry this has taken so long to reply but not on computer much these days
regards Fragle1 :)

Hi. I don't want to hijack this thread too much so I will reply with census details by private message :)
