The following is a list of some of the internment camps in the twenty six counties of Ireland during the 1922-3 Civil War ...

Arbour Hill, Beggars Bush, Curragh, Gormanstown, Kilmainham, Maryboro, Mountjoy, Mullingar, Newbridge, Portabello, Tin Town II and Wellington

‘Internment’ by John McGuffin (1973) describes this period of Irish history. www.irishresistancebooks.com/internment/intern4.htm

Hi, I am trying to find out if there was internment in Oldcastle Co.Meath during WW1.

I was told that some of my German ancestors who had been living in Ireland were first interned in Oldcastle and then moved to Isle of Man.

Thank you.

Quite a lot on google if you simply input a search like:

 "Oldcastle" and "Meath" and "internment".

Hits include the following one below, which has contact details for the Meath County Librarian Ciarán Mangan, he might be able to point you in more directions:

Be interested if anyone has anything on the Internment prisons in the North for the same period. Including Argenta, Larne, Crumlin Road, Derry Gaol, and Ballykinlar. Photos stories? Any info really. thanks.
