no 1911 entry - is this him ?

Births Dec 1907
ARNOLD  George Frederick     Eastbourne  vol 2b page 74

if it had been 1911 onward, we would have seen his mums maiden name, but unless the registers / church records have been transcribed, the only way to find out the parents names with 100% certainty is to purchase the Birth Cert ...

In the quarter you mention, the birth of a George F Armenor (mothers name Putland) was registered in Eastbourne.  Any chance that over the years Armenor became Arnold?

Looks as though there were several other Armenors (or Armeners) in Eastbourne at that time.
But the only other one with the same mother's maiden name was George F Armener's brother, William T Armenor, born in the December quarter of 1919.  Perhaps that might a bit further help.

A bit more helpful or perhaps useless info, depending on what else you already know.

If the Arnold name did come out of one of the variations of Armenor (I've since found Arminer too) the parents were George John Armener and Ethel Maud Putland who married in Eastbourne in the March quarter of 1910
