Hi Higgles ,
               It looks like James and Harriet were married before 1837 so you wont get a Marriage cert. And I dont think Chatham PR.s go back that far on City Arc . You will need to find a willing lookerupper to try and find there marriage. Then you probably wont get the fathers mames!
           They might not even have married in Chatham, just because she was born there, she could have been in service any where and unless you know her maiden name its needle in haystack..
             Your best bet is to see what Ted Stocks got in his Archives about James and Harriet.

i have a james waghorn born 1804 maidstone kent.
married a harriet pedley on 19/11/1832 at findsbury,kent.

james was christened at st margarets,rochester,kent on 3/10/1804.
his parents were james and jane waghorn.

i'm a descendant through david.

That's great, they are my people. Do you have info on people further back? Waghorn is my husbands name and I am tracing that side for my daughter. Was David Waghorn married to Mary Nichols? These are my husbands great great grandparents. According to my father in law for many generations there were davids and georges in the family. Also he says that one of his uncles traced back their tree to the famous Thomas Waghorn, but I'm wondering if this is just family legend as there seem to be lots of Waghorns! Many thanks for your help.

there is a few davids and georges.
im descended from albert edward.which was davids youngest son.

I've just checked my tree and I think you are in it! Do you have three siblings? David and Mary had a son called George James David Waghorn, he is my husbands great grandfather. Accorinding to my family tree software you and hubby are 3rd cousins.
