I just know that the Victorian T sometimes looks like an L and that in turn sometimes looks like an S.  Sometimes folks think they have a Lawyer in the family--but really it was a Sawyer.

Hiya Janis, i have had that with Isabella Elsdon born 1809 father Ralph which said he was a Lawyer but on the census he was a Sawyer, it is the same with another part of me family which was Isabella Maffin but they were two big Fs which would really be two SS then i was telt it could be Matfin so i don`t know cos i aint never found her baptism ???.   Thanks very much for your kind help.
