« on: Saturday 04 October 08 15:43 BST (UK) »
Matilda Campbell,my ancestor, was born 8th August 1882 in Craig.
The above detail was obtained via her passport application to the US Dept of State.
Can anyone, please, find out any other details about her.? Her parents and whether she had any siblings etc. Many thanks.

There's one townland in Co. Londonderry called Craig (in Magilligan Parish) but several others have Craig at the start of the name.
Have you found the record of Matilda arriving in the U.S.?- the passenger manifest might list details of nearest relative in U.K.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi,
The following Campbells are recorded in the townland of Craig in the parish of Tamlaghtard (Magilligan).
Charles, James and Alexander.
Date would be about 1858

Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

Thanks Aghadowey,
Matilda married Harry Austin Malone,my ancestor,in Massachusetts.They married about 1913/14 in Worcester,Mass.
I have their passport application form but this does not provide the N.Ireland data which I am looking for. They became, naturalised US citizens.
Best wishes.

Passport application says she was living in U.S. from 1911 and I've searched for passenger manifest for Matilda's entry into U.S. which would have listed name of nearest relative in U.K. with any luck.
Wonder if parent's names weren't listed on her marriage certificate. Massachusetts death certificates would certainly have asked for names of both parents and where they were born but that information is only as good as what the informant knew where Matilda herslef would have given any details on marriage certificate.

Thanks again.I shall abandon this for the time being and concentrate on other, more easily traceable Malone ancestors.
Good hunting.
