Royal Oak, Pant Y Gof, Halkyn

Hi, Lesley ... thanks for this great information. 

Yes, my grandfather was a butcher in Flint - William Evans Rhodes.  On the death of his wife, Megan went to live in his house as his housekeeper to help in looking after my father, Arthur William.  My grandfather and Megan eventually married. 

Where are you located?  I came to Canada with my family in 1967 and still reside in Calgary.  We also have a home in Phoenix where we hope to retire to some day.  We're here in Phoenix now but leave this weekend to return to Calgary - dread the thought of going back to the snow and cold!

Hiya I have actually got a photo of the royal oak in 1870 and i also have some information about the royal oak and a dentistry advertisement in 1904 that took place in the royal oak halkyn. I also no that there was a parade in halkyn that started at the crown inn then a pub now crown cottages and it ended with a dinner at the royal oak halkyn.I do have a advertisement, at the top it says lot 37 maybe it went up for auction but i dont no the tennant is Mrs.Margaret Evans who has been in occupation about 17 years and the net annual rental is £10 please right back.

Hiya guys sorry i havent been intouch for a while but i managed to forget me password and had to reset it all and I have lost your emails so please resend them if you still want the pic and i also have found a list of tennants who have run the royal oak up until the 8th of april 1938 when it shut from being in private ownership by Ind Coop here is a list of all the tennants
