I've done one of the wasgij puzzles - good fun.  I also love the jigsaws called the Impossibles - no straight edge, five extra pieces, and a hidden message at the end.  Like many other correspondents, FH takes up most of my time these days.

Love jigsaws, crosswords and especially murder mysteries (Inspector Parket game solved so many times it groans when I turn it on now lol)

Has anyone ever thought that we would make fantastic detectives?

Any one thought of joining the police or offering their help in some way?

Actually I'm seriously thinking of doing a PI (private investigator) course.   ;D

It even has a section on genealogy and finding lost relatives. :)

Cryptic crosswords. Not usually bothered about jigsaws, but sometimes the fit takes me....

Sudoku - no. What about problem solving computer games? Now THERE's something I can get seriously sidetracked by!

I just love cryptic crosswords, sudoku, all those brainteaser things and jigsaws (only 1000+ though) around Christmas time.

Do any of you have special times of the day when you are better at them? I find first thing in the morning  until about 11 o'clock and then again from about 9.30 at night.

Nightime is my best time

Not a morning person at all - just ask hubby and kids - they'll tell you NEVER to speak to me first thing until I have had my usual 5 doses of caffeine

Rootschatters have indeed turned detective at the behest of the police, among others:

You've been introduced to my ancestors then have you, Marie? ;D ;D ;D  Certainly causing me a few puzzles and just call me Inspector Morse!!!

Kerry  ;) ;) ;)

Not at all, Kerry!  It is mine who are causing me all sorts of headaches by disappearing and refusing to be found!!

But it seems to me that if we Rootschatters could do what detectives do when faced with a murder, we might make some progress.  That is:
set up a major incident room
form a team
share what we know and what ideas we have about solutions
allocate tasks and pursue lines of investigation
meet regularly to review progress and refine the search!!!  ;D ;D
