But it seems to me that if we Rootschatters could do what detectives do when faced with a murder, we might make some progress.  That is:
set up a major incident room
form a team
share what we know and what ideas we have about solutions
allocate tasks and pursue lines of investigation
meet regularly to review progress and refine the search!!!  ;D ;D

My tree is like my my 4 yr olds jigsaw puzzles.  She has about 40 of them all mixed up together, lots of pieces are missing, lots are stuffed in her closet, some are swept under the carpet and some disappear up the hoover, never to be seen again  ???

Isn't this what we do anyway ??

set up a major incident room:  some one starts a topic about ...
form a team:  several RootsChatters start pitching in with all they can find
share what we know and what ideas we have about solutions: ditto
allocate tasks and pursue lines of investigation: " .. has anybody looked at ... ?"
meet regularly to review progress and refine the search!!! : just read through some of the topics, it's happening all the time !!

And apart from the 'visible' team of helpers, there are all the RootsChatters, following the topic, cheering on silently from the sidelines, some of whom, suddenly see something and join in with more facts, possibilities, ideas, etc.

Think of the RootsChat Challenges, "An interesting story ...", and many, many other topics,
(not just those in RootsChat in the Public Eye / http://surname.rootschat.com/lexicon/rc-media.php )

"many a true word, spoken in jest"  ;D ;D

Yes, Bob, you are quite right, and that is what is so wonderful about Rootschat!!  I wouldn't be without it for the world!!!  ;D

But human beings are never satisfied, are we, and I'm yearning for a face to face gathering where we can bring our stuff and toss ideas back and forth in a real time meeting, spark off each other in a way that isn't possible in cyberspace!

I'm sort of hoping we can do a bit of this at the Brisbane mini meet - before Barbara produces her wine!!

I like turning easy jigsaws upside down and doing them blank side up.
Does that count?
Cheers

Guy sounds like a friend of mine who likes doing the Baked Beans ones - all the same except for the cut out.
Must admit I do like doing them upside down - I spect I'd be really good at them in Oz, Barbara  ;D
However, I must now tackle my jigsaw of a garden :(
