Death at Sea 1912??
« on: Saturday 11 October 08 09:24 BST (UK) »
While reasearching my family i was told by a recently found distant relative that my g/g/grandfather supossedly died at sea.
I would love to be able to confirm this but don't know where to look.

His name was Thomas W Morris born 1864 and he supposedly died whilst on board the HMS Montreal. He may have been a crew member. The ship was travelling from Ireland to Canada in 1912. He supposedly was then buried in Montreal.
Thomas had a very young large family at the time living in the Middlesex area.

Where would i begin to check this out?
Many thanks for any thoughts you might have

His death is registered in the Marine Deaths.

Morris T. age 48, Ship Monteral, page 115.

With this information you can order the death certidicate form the GRO.

I cannot help with the burial.

You would need some credits or a subscription to Find MY Past.

That is the information from the Marine Deaths register, the information I gave is what you need to order the certificate from the GRO.

The references are not the same as post 1837.
