COMPLETED THANKS 1871 Census look up please - PECK household
« on: Sunday 12 October 08 12:04 BST (UK) »
Good morning,

I would be grateful if anyone could find the following household in the 1871 Census please:

William PECK - not sure of his dob (at a guess c1840) nor place
Mary (wife) (née HOLMES ?)
Christiana (daughter) born Sturton Stowe 1863, and would therefore have been about 8 years old.

There are probably other children but I have no names.

Christiana appears in the 1881 Census at the age of 18 as a General Servant in the household of Joseph & Mary WARD at Alger Kirk & Amber Hill.

I realise that it's not a lot to go on, but if anyone can help or see a clue..................!!

Many thanks,

Nick

Good afternoon Sue,

yes, I think you've knobbled the right ones ! The Kirton Lindsey births tie up, and Christiana's age does too. Thank you kindly, you've unlocked a door for me !

Would it be too much to ask you to look and see if William & Mary could be found in 1861 please ? Son Thomas would have been 1 or 2 years old, and maybe Rebecca an infant. That will help situate the probable date of marriage.

You've been a great help ! Thank you.

Nick
