Please help date and restore

Dear listers,

Can some good soul please date, restore and clean this tin photo. Could it have been taken in England?

I know which side of the family she comes from so this way, I'll be able to give her a name.

Hi Nancy,
Your photo is beautiful    It could definitely have been taken in England, or Australia, or anywhere else really...tintypes were cheap and very popular right through from the 1850s to the 1930s/40s.

I would date the photo to somewhere in the second half of the 1870s, but I'd like some others to give their opinions because I'm not sure...don't worry, I'm sure people will be jumping at this, it's such a great photo!

What a lovely photo...I'd say definitely 1870s, the dress has the fussy frilly look of the 70s but without the heavy upholstery look to it, so I'd certainly go along with Prue...late 70s.

The contrast of the pastel summery dress and the black gloves, reticule and parasol is interesting. Don't think I've ever seen that before...very daring

To me, it's got a bit of an Australian feel about it, especially the pale dress and parasol, and the tropical backdrop...
