Hi Barney

I hope you recieve lots of help.

Some queries that need answering so that people know where to start with help.

Do you know if Herbert's brother had died? Have got the certificate?

Did Herbert's brother and Annie have any children? When were they married? Do you have the certificate?

I think that your first step is to purchase all the relevent the marriage certificates.

These should give you  answers as to maritial status , parents names etc. This should help clear up any of your initial concerns.

Sometmes it is important to purchse certificates and not just rely on index entries which have only limited information in them.

regards

What was the name of Herberts brother (who married Annie Pearce)? that will help find the marriage.

Or if you dont know - then have you got Herbert on the censuses as a child, in order to find out names of all / any brothers he had who may be the candidate?

Poor chap - the piano incident does NOT sound nice at all. But however he went, he should still have a death cert.

do you have any census refs for the family?

In 1891 I can only find a 12 yr old Alfred who was bn Saling - and siblings dont match.

Are you sure the list you gave are all brothers? strange that the parents had 2 boys in 1876 in different places!

When was Herbert born? I see he married first in 1889 so must be older than those listed....
