Hi,
Thanks, seeing that our census are not equal to the day like yours, that might be a chance.

Hi,
One final question:  is there any chance your shires may have canged slightly over the years?
While I am writing this, I am thinking of my home county.  Another county split off from it after North Dakota became a state.

Hi Waralan,

Yes that is certinly the case with some counties.  There is a good chance that a change has been made to the county boundary since C1865.

If I were you I would post a message in the Lincolnshire board for a more certain answer,  giving the best possible information on the exact area.

Hi,

You might be looking at the Isle of Axholme area of Lincolnshire which borders onto South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

I think that certain parts of the Isle of Axholme, (for instance Eastoft), whilst still in Lincolnshire, may be covered by the Doncaster registration district for bmd's.

Try the following link for a map of the area by the Isle of Axholme family history society - clicking on the names of towns and villages on the map will give information on them.
