Hi Brian,

Yes, on second thoughts, I beleive that either John remembered Thorpe as a child as you mention, or else as you said before, he was a foundling. Although there is this couple Henry and Sarah Thorpe in Thorpe.

Hi Riboga   Don't give up on finding John,the fact that there are Thorpe's in Thorpe-le -Soken means that at least there is some family history there,who knows maybe lots,the one thing for certain is this family did not move far so as I said I will have a look at to see if I can find John in the nearby villages.
