Not sure if this excites you as much as I got a kick out of finding it...I imagine this is your connection to Brandon and the Kyberd/Liston connection as well
 ;D
The writer has left a name here in Winnipeg! http://liston.ourfamily.com/Page6c.HTM

His Great Grandfather was Henry Liston born in  Pershire, Scotland June 6,1836 the son of a Minister in the Redgarton Parish. He was educated at King's College in  Aberdeen and the Royal Military College of Sandhurst, England. He was commissioned to serve as ensign in the 24th Regiment of the Line at the end of the Crimean War. He decided to leave the military and went to Ceylon where he started a coffee plantation. He married Sabrina Kyberd in 1865 and had five children, one being Emily my grandmother. After 25 years in Ceylon, were he served as justice of the peace and for many years in the Legislative Council of the Colony under Sir Hercules Robinson, he left in 1880 after his wifes death. He struck out for Souris, Manitoba, Canada arriving there in 1882 where he resided until his death in December 1905.

Thanks for the great help, everybody. I have found a final scrap of info regarding another branch of the family. George Armstrong b1861 in St Neots, Hunts, England wed Adeline Wells b1867. I don't know where the marriage took place.

They had the following:
Enid Lucy Elizabeth - no details except that she wed a Dr Hubert (?) Kitchen

The other child was Olive Adeline  b1891 - no other details

I think both the above were born in Canada, as I can't find anything over here.

I know it's not much to go on!
Cheers
Bob

Hi Bob,

You will find George and Adeline, together with their daughters Enid and Adeline living in Brandon, Manitoba as well in the 1901 at www.automatedgenealogy.com

George lists his year of immigration as 1884 and Adeline 1888.
