Thanks Suz,
I'm now registered with Ancestry.com and so can use those reference numbers in the future.  You've been most patient with me!

Now this is interesting

Katherine was with her Uncle -Whinfield Robinson -in 1901

well

here's Whinfield in 1861
S Side of market St Liskeard Cornwall

Whinfield Robinson Head M 31 Grocer employing 8 men 3 boysKendall Westmoreland
Caroline wife 29 truro Cornwall
jane daughter 8mths
RG9 159 6117

(on all other census Whinfield's p.o.b. is Cartmel Lancs

and then there is a marriage FreeBMD
Jun qtr 1858
Falmouth
Whinfield Robinson
Caroline mann
5c 335

so it looks a possibility Katherine's mum (Elizabeth) and Caroline were sisters??

There's something for you to chase up !!!

If you need any help just shout

Caroline Mann was Elizabeth's sister! (14 years younger).  In the 1881 census they lived in Devon and he was a farmer.  Caroline was listed as an annuitant.  Do you know what that meant?

Would you be so kind as to look up Thomas Mann Nainby family in the 1891 and 1901 census?

Thank you.
