Border crossings from Canada to the USA
« on: Monday 20 October 08 19:23 BST (UK) »
Could someone who has full subscription to Ancestry please look up the border crossing from Canada to the USA in the name of Charles Ludford. I know he was on the 1911 census of Canada in Calgary but am wondering if this is him going over the border to the U S when his brother William was murdered in 1909. Many thanks.

Hi there herbert hunter,
A Charles Ludford arrived in October 1909 with his wife Daisy. He was 27, she was 25. His occupation was a clerk, and they both have Bermuda as their nationality, although they have English as their race. They came from St John, NB, Canada, and were going to Brooklyn, New York.
Charles had his mother listed as his nearest relative -Mary E Hewlett, living Somerset, Bermuda, BWI, and Daisy had her father listed - Henry Wilson, living Harrington, Bermuda, BMI.
Hope this helps, best wishes, haliared

Can't find Charles Lutford on the 1911 census?

On the 1911 census he is transcribed as Ludforg. He was born in Leire Leicestershire in 1862 so I don't think the one that you mention is him. Thanks anyway for looking him up.
