MARSHWOOD PARISH REGS
« on: Tuesday 01 February 05 23:17 GMT (UK) »
I have had research carried out on the early  MARSHWOOD parish registers. Unfortunately, I have been told that there are large gaps in them which makes tracing my Marshwood family very difficult. Does anybody know if there were bishops transcripts as early as 1614-1680? Thank you. Fay

Hi Fay,

If you have not tried it already  the Dorset FHS may be able to give you the information you require.

Kind Regards,

Frances

On the Dorset OPC site  www.dorset-opc.com they have Marshwood marriages from 1614 to 1673:
http://www.dorset-opc.com/MarshwoodMarriages.htm

There is also a note at the bottom of the page:
[NOTE: - Later Marriages ie those after 1673 are to be found at Whitchurch Canoncorum - E.N.]

You could also try asking the Dorset OPC whether anybody has more / knows more.

Hope this helps,
Bob
