Great Stambridge - Skinner Family
« on: Friday 24 October 08 14:24 BST (UK) »
If anyone can help with any parish records from Great Stambridge.

I have hit a brickwall with Charlotte Skinner. She is on 1871 census as a nurse in the London Hospital and gives her place of birth as Great Stambridge Essex in c1833.
I can then trace her through to 1901 census following her marriage to Joshua Jerham in 1872. She always gives her place of birth as Great Stambridge, Essex.

Her marriage certificate states she is a spinster aged 38 (this makes her birth c1834) and she names her father as James Skinner a labourer.

I cant find her prior to 1871 census.

She had a son Ernest born c1862 who is in lodgings on 1871 census as Ernest Skinner but then is called Ernest Jerham in 1881 then is back to Ernest Skinner from 1891 onwards when he is married to Harriet living in West Ham.

All help appreciated.

Regards
Lorrie
