Thanks for the pm.

This family first appear on the 1861 census and judging by the birthplaces of the children would suggest they were in Ireland in 1851

1861

South Street, Boness,West Lothian

Peter Mulrine Head 50 Labourer born Ireland
Rosey Mulrine wife 44 born Ireland
Mary Mulrine dau 16 born Ireland
Isabella Mulrine dau 14 born Ireland
Bridget Mulrine dau 7 born Ireland
Anne Mulrine dau 5 born Boness, Linlithgowshire
Patrick Mulrine son 1 Mo, born Boness, Linlithgowshire

Boness Page  24 Line 22 1861

Big gap between Isabella and Bridget so may be another child somewhere

Please bear in mind that I cannot check the original image to correct these mis transcriptions but this does look like the family.

Bredat for Bridget ;D

I think Peter hit hard times.

Suspect Rosa's age is incorrect - it's difficult not having acess to the images

1871

South Street, Boness

Peter Mutrine Head 59 Scavenger born Ireland
Rosa Mutrine wife 45 born Ireland
Bredat Mutrine dau 18 Pottery worker born Ireland
Ann Mutrine dau 15 Pottery worker born Boness, Linlithgowshire

Many thanks...  ;D  I think you are right look what I found on SP ::)

Birth cert. No.58
Patrick MULRINE
b.1861, Mar 1st, Boness, WLN
f.Peter MULRINE, Scavenger
m.Rosa MULRINE, ms DONELLY
marr.1842, Sep 15th, Ireland
inf.Peter MULRINE, his X mark
reg.1861, Mar 29th, Boness, WLN

Still no idea which part of Ireland they came from however both HARKINS & MULRINE are predominantly Donegal surnames...am I clutching at straws again ???

The only two extracted records I have found are for John and Patrick.

I can't check for birth registrations as I only have access to England and Wales.

If you are using Scotspeople you have a better chance than I do.

I can't see John on the 1861 or Patrick on the 1871 census

I've tried a search from 1853 -1857 and found nothing.  I'm sure she's there hopefully on the right side of 1855 :'(

Many thanks for your help ;D

Rosey died in 1889 which would mean she should appear on the 1881 census ???
