Hello Elizabeth, GEE WHIZ!  Thank you so much! That certainly is information I never dreamed existed.  Verbal family history had never hinted at the first wife.  :o  My sincerest thanks! Pat

Hello again, Elizabeth!  Another twist on this family!  In the 1920 census, there is a "Joe Fenton" a lodger living with the family....I strongly suspect that this is Reay William Fenton's younger Brother, Joseph A. Fenton b. 1893/1894 in Paddington, London!!! This "simple request" is really taking me for a ride!  ;D  Now I have to try to figure out what he was doing living in the USA with his Brother.  I had no clue that had happened!  What a tangled web our people wove....or, is it weaved???!!  :o  Thank you so much!!   Sincerely, Pat

The marriage to Violet May took place in BC in 1926 (she was Violet May Chapman)
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html
 - he does his himself as divorced in this record.

There is also a death record indexed for Arthur Joseph Fenton, b. 1893 d. 1962, parents William Fenton and Sarah Reay.
I think his wife was Violet Amy Farrow, b. "Amy Violet Farrow" in 1898, may have married John Hayston Frank after Arthur's death (see his death certificate in 1980 and hers in 1986)

http://www.calarchives4u.com/cemeteries/alameda/mtvview-f.txt
 - here's where Reay and Violet May buried, although Reay is "Raly"
