Whiley, Narford/East Walton
« on: Sunday 26 October 08 09:36 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help please, with the Whiley family. Especially Lewis Whiley who I think married Frances Daws or Dawes abt. 1804 at East Walton and their children. There was a daughter Mary Ann Whiley born at East Walton about 1806, who I can,t find any record of anywhere.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Emoh,

I've had a look on the CD  of Norfolk Marriages 1801-1837, and I think I've found a couple of your "key" names - the spellings are as transcribed.

Lewis Wyley m. Frances Dawes, 17 June 1804 at East Walton,
and
Mary Wiley m. John Smith Durrent, 14 July 1824 at Watton.

Unfortunately no other names/details are given.

I've found (I think) your Lewis Whiley in the 1841 and 1851 censuses - on both, he was born about 1783.  If you haven't seen them, I can let you have the details.

Also a burial for Lewis Wiley, age 90, on 17 12 1872 at East Winch, which is about 3 miles from East Walton/Narford - this was on the Freereg site.

Hope it helps,
Yorkslass
